Gaia DR3 Model
[edit]How do the numbers equate to the stellar evolution phase? - 640 = Red giant branch? or 540? --Speed doesn't always mean quality. (talk) 23:03, 24 June 2022 (UTC)
- There is a document that describes this. Can't find it now, of course! I think the models only go up to the end of the red giant branch. I seem to remember the phase number goes up to 1,000. I'll dig it up again if it is needed. Maybe useful for many stars now that DR3 is out? It is only a model, and only a blind computer model, but it is available for a lot of stars. - Well that was easy to find. This should be enough detail for most purposes. Reading a little more about the models, there are stars with the parameter higher than the tip of the red giant branch, but these are essentially meaningless as the FLAME models only go to the tip of the red giant branch. Also arXiv preprints at [1] and [2]. Lithopsian (talk) 12:25, 26 June 2022 (UTC)
